Volunteer Cabin Rentals

Welcome To Wears Valley

Posted by Jon Hoffman in Wears Valley

One of the things that makes Volunteer Cabin Rentals a popular choice for overnight accommodations in the Smokies is our location. Most of our properties can be found in or near the community of Wears Valley, TN, which is less than 10 miles from Pigeon Forge. Being able to offer such a diverse collection of cabin rentals in such a location comes with many advantages.

Great views in Wears Valley, TN

Beautiful settings and views

Many of our properties are on or near Cove Mountain, which towers over the town of Wears Valley and the similarly named Wear Cove area below. As such, our guests often enjoy stunning views of the entire Smokies range and/or the beautiful rolling valleys at the base of the mountain. This often also translates into private settings that give our guests a sense of seclusion amidst the beauty of the mountains and woodlands. These rentals provide a more laid-back accommodations experience that's relatively removed from the hustle and bustle of the Parkway in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Imagine relaxing with a cup of coffee each morning from the expansive deck of one of our cabins while you also drink in the grandeur of the mountains before you.

Wears Valley has a lot to offer

Although Wears Valley isn't nearly the size of Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, and it doesn't have nearly as much to offer in terms of vacation activities, that doesn't mean the town has nothing going for it. You'll find a number of quality restaurants nearby, including Elvira's Café - a popular breakfast spot - and even a food-truck park that hosts mobile food vendors on a rotating basis. Also look for a wide range of retail stops, with stores offering everything from antiques to arts and crafts.

Proximity to national park

If you're headed into Great Smoky Mountains National Park, you'll be glad to know that you don't need to drive all the way to Gatlinburg or even to Townsend, TN, to gain access. Wears Valley has its own entrance to the park via Line Springs Rd. The park boundary is less than three miles away, and before you know it, you're pulling into the backside of the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area. From there, the main park road can either take you toward destinations like Cades Cove and the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont if you head west or Elkmont Campground and Sugarlands Visitor Center if you head east.

You're still never far from the action

Even though our cabins largely are located in fairly secluded, scenic areas, we're still close enough to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville that when you are ready to visit popular attractions or expand your range of restaurant options or do some outlet mall shopping, there's not a whole lot of driving ahead of you. On most days, you can be in the heart of Pigeon Forge is less than 20 minutes.
