Exciting New Attractions Come to Wilderness at the Smokies

This year, Wilderness at the Smokies celebrates its 15th anniversary. And, in honor of the occasion, this popular Sevierville attraction plans a number of new additions, including a 40,000-square-foot expansion of its Wild WaterDome indoor waterpark.

Some additions will open as early as Spring 2023, while others are slated for fall completion. Meanwhile, Wilderness at the Smokies will continue to offer all of its current adventures, both indoors and out.

Arriving in Spring 2023: Rocky Top Glider “Cloud Coaster”

Have you ever soared above it all on a cloud coaster? If not, then now's your chance. This spring, Wilderness at the Smokies will unveil its new Rocky Top Glider at its indoor Forest Family Adventure Park.

Safely enclosed in your suspended single-seat vehicle, you'll roll along a lofty track high above the park's attractions. As you glide smoothly uphill and around tight corners – all with minimal G-force – you'll literally feel like you're flying.

Best of all, you'll get to control your own speed (up to a certain point) as you ascend up to 25 feet. It's an exhilarating airborne experience, yet it's 100% family-friendly and suitable for almost all ages.

Arriving Soon: Switchback Mountain, New 3-Story Water Coaster

How would you like to:

• Plunge 22 feet at 29 miles per hour?
• Soar up to a hairpin turn, surrounded by luminous colors and dazzling patterns?
• Plummet into an open flume, wet and wild on every side?
• Blast up to a sharp left turn, with even more patterns and colors?

• Cruise into another flume for a spectacular finish?

That's what awaits you when Switchback Mountain opens at the Wild WaterDome at Wilderness at the Smokies.

This 3-story indoor water coaster will take you through three steep drops as you twist and turn to the end. Along the way, while you zoom through the tubes, you'll experience something new: Reverse AquaLucent effects with spellbinding color patterns. You've never seen anything like them!

Arriving Soon: Forbidden Caverns Lazy River

Love leisurely lazy rivers? Wait till you float down this one: Forbidden Caverns Lazy River, coming soon to the Wild WaterDome at Wilderness at the Smokies.

This serene indoor tubing stream will offer all the carefree bliss you expect from a lazy river. Plus, it will provide something more: an immersive tunnel experience with kaleidoscopic lighting and dazzling mirrored projections. As colors and patterns swirl and change, you'll feel like you're on a magical voyage to an enchanted realm.

Arriving Soon: Lookout Lagoon

Ready to rise to the top? Ride the elevator up to Lookout Lagoon, the breathtaking new rooftop pool scheduled to open soon at Wilderness at the Smokies. This sparkling glass-edged pool will give you endless opportunities to frolic, splash, and swim. Plus, you'll get to nosh at the new Rooftop Grill and enjoy toe-tappin' live music at the entertainment stage area.
